Bwipo Apologizes for Controversial Remarks and Prepares for Worlds 2025

Time: 2025-10-14 17:00 (UTC)

The top laner for  FlyQuest , Gabriel " Bwipo " Rau, has returned to the lineup after a temporary suspension and removal from the Worlds 2025 anthem due to sexist remarks made during a stream.

In an interview with Sheep Esports, the Belgian player discussed the difficult period, his preparation for the championship, and the lessons he learned from the situation.

Return and Tournament Preparation

According to Bwipo , FlyQuest had to make do with a short bootcamp in Korea and a few days of training in China . However, the player notes that the new Swiss Ghosts system might favor Western teams — "playing their meta pool and catching opponents off guard" in a best-of-one format has always been their advantage.

On Criticism and Team Support

Following the scandal, Bwipo admitted he feared for his career and even doubted whether he could attend Worlds. According to him, FlyQuest supported him and gave him a chance to make amends.

Being wrong and asking for forgiveness means accepting any decision, even if it seems too harsh.

The player acknowledged that his words were a "terrible opinion" that he does not share himself and that publicly, he let down the fans and the region.

I should only address my fans with gratitude. In recent months, I failed at that, and I am very sorry.

Despite the unpleasant episode, the FlyQuest top laner is focused on a successful performance at Worlds 2025 in Beijing. In closing the interview, he apologized once more:

I'm sorry that my actions led to LTA being excluded from the Worlds anthem. It's a blow to the entire region, and I sincerely regret it.
