faker Becomes First Player with 10 Appearances at Worlds 2025

Time: 2025-10-17 23:00 (UTC)

At Worlds 2025, Lee " faker " Sang-hyeok achieved a unique milestone: he became the first player in League of Legends history to participate in ten Worlds.

His debut was at Worlds 2013, and since then, he has won five titles.

After T1 's victory over  FlyQuest  in the group stage, faker admitted that he didn't immediately grasp the significance of the moment:

To be honest, I didn't know it was my tenth Worlds. But after many people told me, I thought, "Wow, I've been in this for a long time." I'm truly grateful to all the fans who continue to support me and celebrate my records with me.

Since 2013, faker has only missed Worlds three times, and in all other instances, he consistently reached the playoff stage. He remains the tournament's record holder for the number of matches played, victories, kills, and assists. After defeating  Invictus Gaming  in the play-in stage of Worlds 2025, he achieved 110 victories in the tournament—more than the total number of games played by the second-ranked player  Xiaohu  (109 matches).

Despite a career spanning over a decade, faker hasn't lost his motivation. T1 has extended his contract until 2029, and he continues to fight for another title. At the time of publication, the team has a 1–1 record in the group stage and is preparing for a match against  Generation Gaming .
