Counter-Strike 2: August 19 Update Delivers Map Fixes, Stability Improvements, and Bug Patches

On August 19, 2025, Valve released a new Counter-Strike 2 update. The patch weighs in at 1.4 GB and primarily addresses fixes and adjustments on Ancient and Shoots, alongside stability improvements and bug fixes. The full changelog was published on the official CS2 site.

Reverted roof decorations near CT spawn (“house”).
Restored the ability to wallbang the plywood in “cave.”

Miscellaneous
Fixed knife slashes applying a “dry” attack decal on wet surfaces.
Fixed a case where clients would mispredict shots if the attack button was held across round respawn.
Fixed a case where the viewmodel would stick to the camera when cl_lock_camera was set.
Fixed fullscreen windowed mode not offering resolutions with extreme aspect ratios.
Fixed fullscreen windowed mode not stretching to fill the screen.
Fixed incorrect relative mouse motion on Linux.
Various stability improvements.

Just five days earlier, on August 14, CS2 received a much larger 4.4 GB update that introduced nighttime versions of Ancient and Shoots, refreshed Ancient ’s materials with new shaders and blending options, and brought a massive weapon animation overhaul. That patch also added new cosmetic content such as the M4A1-S | Solitude skin and the Deluge Music Kit Box.
