The VCT 2025: Pacific Stage 2 playoffs are in full swing, and alongside the upper bracket, the elimination matches are also taking place. Today, two matches were played in the first round of the lower bracket, as a result of which we learned the names of the teams that were the first to leave the tournament during the last stage.
Detonation FocusMe vs. Nongshim RedForce
In the first match, we saw a clash between two mid-tier teams, Detonation FocusMe and Nongshim RedForce . Both teams performed quite well during the group stage and advanced to the playoffs, although not from the top spots. The match itself was not very exciting, with Nongshim RedForce easily defeating Lotus 13:6 on their map of choice, and then defeating their opponents again on Ascent with a score of 13:10.
Rex Regum Qeon vs. Gen.G Esports
The second match featured more renowned teams, Rex Regum Qeon and Gen.G Esports , and therefore the match was more interesting. On the first map, Haven, Gen.G won 13:10. But on the second map, Sunset, RRQ took the initiative and won 13:11. The outcome of the match was decided on Corrode, where RRQ easily won 13:6.
As a result of the matches, Detonation FocusMe and Rex Regum Qeon leave the event in 7th and 8th place, earning 3 Pacific Points per team and no prize money. Nongshim RedForce and Gen.G Esports , in turn, advance to the next round, where tomorrow they will face their opponents for the right to continue their journey in the tournament.
It should also be noted that thanks to their victory, Nongshim RedForce displaced BOOM Esports to 8th place in the VCT 2025: Pacific Championship Points table. This means that BOOM loses its slot in the VCT and will start competing in the Ascension division from the 2026 season.
VCT 2025: Pacific Stage 2 is taking place from July 15 to August 31 in South Korea. Twelve teams are competing for a prize pool of $250,000 and two slots in VALORANT Champions 2025.
