The closed qualifiers for The International 2025 kicked off on June 4 in South America and Eastern Europe. Qualifiers in other regions will start later. Teams are competing for eight spots in the year's main tournament. Below are the current qualification results by region.
South America
In the upper bracket, Edge defeated Heroic 2:1 and were the first to reach the grand final of the qualifiers. In the lower bracket, OG .LATAM eliminated Team Sin Compromiso (2:1) but then lost to Heroic in the lower bracket final (1:2). Thus, Heroic secured the second spot in the grand final, where they won a rematch against Edge 3:1 to claim the qualification victory.
Eastern Europe
In the upper bracket final, Aurora Gaming defeated Natus Vincere 2:1 and advanced to the grand final of the qualifiers. In the lower bracket, Cyber Goose successively defeated Nemiga Gaming (2:0) and Natus Vincere (2:1), securing their place in the final. In the decisive tournament match, Aurora Gaming confidently defeated Cyber Goose 3:0 to earn the slot.
Southeast Asia
Talon Esports and Team Nemesis reached the upper bracket final, confidently defeating Ivory and Execration 2:0, respectively. They will now compete for a spot in the grand final. In the lower bracket, BOOM Esports defeated Ivory 2:0 and await the winner of the Execration vs. Tech Free Gaming match.
Western Europe
NAVI Junior and OG will compete in the upper bracket final for one of the two slots at TI 2025. NAVI defeated 1win Team 2:1, while OG confidently overcame 4Pirates . In the lower bracket, Nigma Galaxy and Yellow Submarine continue to battle: Nigma eliminated Virtus.Pro , and Yellow Submarine defeated AVULUS and will now face 4Pirates and 1win Team , respectively, in the quarterfinals.
North America
Wildcard confirmed their status as the strongest team in these qualifiers. In the grand final, they met Shopify Rebellion for the second time, the tournament favorites whom they had already defeated earlier. A 3:2 victory secured them first place and a ticket to the main part of the tournament.
China
Yakult's Brothers, despite losing in the upper bracket final, quickly bounced back. In the lower bracket, they faced Tearlaments again and emerged victorious once more, this time 2:1, allowing them to reach the grand final. However, they couldn't stop Xtreme Gaming .
Xtreme Gaming easily confirmed their status as the qualification favorites. In the grand final, the team faced Yakult's Brothers again and left them no chance, finishing the series 3:0. Thus, Xtreme Gaming secured a confident victory in the tournament and advanced to the next stage.
The closed qualifiers for The International 2025 are taking place in June across all six regions and will be the final stage of selection for the year's main tournament. Each region features invited teams and those that advanced through the open stages. The qualifiers will distribute eight slots: two for Western Europe and Southeast Asia, and one each for Eastern Europe, China , North America, and South America.
