Testing of WASD will begin on the PBE, where developers will gather feedback and fix bugs. The new scheme will then gradually appear in unranked queues and eventually in ranked matches. Special attention is being paid to the balance between movement and attacks to ensure both schemes are equivalent and don't provide any advantages.
New Camera Features and Key Bindings
In addition to the WASD scheme, the game will feature a new version of the locked camera — the Dynamic Locked Camera. It combines the convenience of a fixed camera with an extended view toward the cursor, allowing for a better view of the battlefield. Key bindings will also be expanded — for instance, players will be able to bind the left mouse button without complex system file edits for the first time. Currently, these innovations will only be available for WASD to ensure their stability before they become accessible to all players.
Enhancing the Gaming Experience
Beyond controls, Riot plans to enhance the overall gaming experience. The maximum level of the battle pass will be reduced from 50 to 48, allowing players to complete it faster without losing out on rewards. Beloved emotes and icons from Teamfight Tactics, previously obtainable only through special passes, will return to the store.
Additionally, the game will introduce built-in timers for jungle camps and update the death screen, making it more informative and useful for analysis. An indicator for last-hitting minions will appear in unranked queues, helping players better manage the gameplay.
According to the developers, League remains a complex game, and steps like these will help lower the entry barrier for new players, making the path to gaming enjoyment quicker and easier.
