Team Vitality Pad: "Time to Try Being Myself"

Time: 2025-09-17 12:30 (UTC)

Team Vitality  once again failed to qualify for Worlds 2025, losing to  Karmine Corp  with a score of 1:3 during the LEC 2025 Summer.

Despite a strong summer performance, the team ended the season without achieving its main goal. In an interview with Hotspawn, assistant coach Patrick "Pad" Sacco-Breum acknowledged controversial decisions by the coaching staff and hinted at possible changes in the coaching lineup.

Analyzing the Defeat

After the series against KC, Patrick admitted he felt devastated.

Mainly just sad. We've been knocked out before, but this time it was especially hard because in the last few weeks, we were genuinely beating top teams. We consistently lost only to Fnatic . So the hope was immense.

According to him, the key factors were drafting errors and a lack of initiation.

In the second game, KC utilized the sides well, and Yike (Martin “Yike” Sandgren) secured important kills. In the third, we again lacked engage — without Linkas or Fleshy , it's always tough for us. In the final game, the draft with Jhin and K’Santé against Jayce was overly optimistic.

Pad also noted that Vitality could have achieved more if they had more time for practice and experience in bo5.

Pad's Future

The assistant coach specifically commented on his position within the coaching staff, indicating that he is ready for an independent career.

It's time to try being myself. Mac and I have worked together for too long and fill the same roles. I want to build my own legacy, not just be “Mac + Pad.”

He didn't forget to thank Team Vitality 's fans for their support during a tough season.

Thank you to the fans. I love that they are engaged, happy, angry, and argumentative. It's a shame we couldn't replicate MAD Lions ' success and show results. But this lineup is the first in two years that I am truly proud of. It's something to build the future on.

For Team Vitality , the summer split ended with a painful defeat, and missing out on a spot at Worlds 2025 was the season's biggest disappointment. However, the team's growth offers hope that next year could be a turning point.
