Lyncas after elimination from LEC Summer: “The goal was to go to Beijing”

Time: 2025-09-18 10:00 (UTC)

September 13th marked the end of  Team Vitality 's Summer LEC playoffs. After winning the first map, the team ultimately lost to  Karmine Corp  with a score of 1:3.

Linus “Lyncas” Naunčikas shared his thoughts on the reasons behind the defeat.

Disappointment in Team Vitality was fueled by the loss against Karmine Corp . Expectations for the tournament had shifted significantly. Thoughts of domination over the opponents also became uncertain.

This really sucks. Honestly, I didn’t expect this result. The past few weeks, we had good scrims. We were one of the top teams in practice. I felt like we were progressing well. This week was harder due to circumstances we couldn’t control—there was no electricity, no power, we had to move—but the same happened to KC, so it’s definitely not an excuse. I feel terrible, to be honest. Our goal was to go to Beijing. Knowing our skill, seeing how other teams play, and how we perform in scrims—it felt very achievable. I still haven’t fully processed all of this, but it feels really bad. Especially my fourth game—it was just a war crime on the Rift.

Problems with scrims affected the team’s preparation. Frequent moves prevented them from training regularly, which led to a disrupted routine.

Quite a lot, to be honest. This week, we had power outages, had to move, and all of this affected our routine. We couldn’t train the way we usually do, and it threw us off rhythm. But at the same time, KC had the same conditions. So, it's not an excuse, just a factor that added stress. I wouldn’t say it was the only reason for the loss, but maybe if the week had gone smoothly, we could’ve shown more stable gameplay.

Lyncas also expressed his gratitude towards the fans, offering hope that they would still prove themselves.

"First of all—thank you. Thank you for the support throughout the whole year, even when things weren’t going smoothly for us. I know the expectations were high, and we didn’t meet them. I’m really sorry. But I truly appreciate everyone who kept believing in us, who sent messages, who supported us in the arena and online. It means a lot. I hope we’ll still have a chance to show what we’re really capable of. Thank you."

At the time of the publication, Team Vitality had finished their participation in the 2025 LEC Summer. The team placed 5-6th.
